SOUTH KOREA TRAVEL BLOG - Gyeongbokgung Palace + Bukchon Hanok Village + Namsan Seoul Tower + Myeongdong

12:02 PM

I think when you visit a country, you have to experience their local culture rather than just observing it. It adds more memories and make your travels more interesting. This could be done by trying out their local food/cuisines, riding their public transportation, talk and be friends to local, buy souvenirs local made, or wear their costumes. So, aside for enjoying Samgyeopsal almost every dinner we had while in Korea, we also tried their traditional Korean dress "Hanbok". Hanbok usually refers to the traditional clothing back in Joseon period. If you love watching Korean dramas, I bet you've seen the girls wore this dress. On our third day in Seoul, we started our day by renting the dress at Hanbok Girls.

We had our lunch at the famous Tosokchon Samgyetang (토속촌 삼계탕) which was walking distance from the palace. It was delicious. Here's how to eat Tosokchon Samgyetang :

Next stop was Namsan Seoul Tower. We still had enough time before sunset so we decided to go there. We purchased our tickets via klook (Click this link or use my code : 03GPG to get S$5 as soon as you sign up to KLOOK) beforehand. Even we took the tougher path, we arrive just in time.
Don't be as daring as us on hiking this trail up but instead take the cable car. HAHA :D

After our eventful night walking and taking what seemed to be thousands of stairs, we reached the bus stop where we would board to Myeongdong. If Singapore got Orchard Road, South Korea got Myeongdong, their shopping haven. Well I bet you can guess what we did there..

  1. Interesting blog, it reminds me of Seoul, at Myeongdong Night Time , the food stalls lined-up in the middle of hotels, skin care shops, restaurants, cafés and night clubs.
I tried to write a blog about it , hope you also like it: https://stenote.blogspot.com/2019/11/seoul-at-myeongdong-night-time.html
