Here's some tips if you are planning to
go to Pulau Ubin:

Make sure to bring the following:
ü Cash
(no ATM in Pulau Ubin)
ü Insect
repellents
ü Hat
ü Water
Bottle
ü Towel
ü Zip
lock bags ( In case there is chance of rain)

How to go there:
1. Find your way to where the adventure begins: Changi Point Ferry Terminal.
2. Go downstairs of the terminal and find the
queue going to Pulau Ubin.
3. Take the public bumboat going to the island
(fare S$3/per person for a single trip to be paid when already in the boat,
Additional S$2 per bicycle) There is no fixed schedule for the boat ride, once
there are 12 passengers (max passenger capacity) then it will leave. It is
15mins boat ride.
Once you
arrived in Pulau Ubin, there are bike rentals that’s good for full day or few
hours that range from S$10-S$25 depending on size and if it looks newer. Try to
haggle. You can also give a deposit of
S$10 and get a bike lock.
They will
give you map of the island as well; else you can ask for it or drop by at the
NParks information centre near the Pulau Ubin jetty.
What we've
done last Saturday was arrived around 9:00 AM, had some breakfast on a small eatery. We
rented bikes and start cycling our way to nature. We dismounted our bike and hiked the Puaka Hill first, took some pics then head to the Ketam Mountain Bike Park. After
almost 3 hrs of cycling we went back to the jetty terminal area, had a
sumptuous seafood lunch which was kind of expensive.
After resting, we then proceed on the other side of the island, Chek Jawa Wetlands. On our
way, we met some wild monkeys who took my water bottle and water monitor
exploring the roads. We dismounted our
bikes somewhere near the Punai Hut and had to walk to Chek Jawa Visitor Centre,
Coastal Boardwalk then to the Mangroves. My favorite place was the Jejawi
observation tower. You MUST go upstairs and once you reached the top you would
love it!
We headed
back around 2PM with sore legs, some mosquito bites and an overall fun day. 😊
