Phang Nga & Beyond : Tour Review

3:27 PM

My boyfriend and I went to Phuket for a side trip during his visit here in Asia. We availed the Phang Nga & Beyond Tour from Simba Sea Trips. We were so excited as this is my boyfriend’s first time in Thailand and I really wanted to go to Phang Nga Bay even on my previous trip. However, our excitement turns to worry because it was raining cats and dogs the day before the tour. We emailed Simba Sea Trips about our concerns and they promptly replied that our safety was their priority and that they were monitoring the weather and tides closely. It’s around 6 AM when we were picked up at the hotel and it was raining really hard, my boyfriend and I shut one of our eyes to danger and just try to be positive that the rain will go away and that availing this more expensive tour should guarantee our welfare. We were at a van with two other couples, on of them on their honeymoon and the other were celebrating their golden anniversary. We were so into with the older couple and we were hoping to be like them when we get older, going to another side of the world, being sweet and just wearing our hearts on our sleeve.
Back to the tour, we arrived at the meeting place and had our light breakfast. We were 18 tourist along with 2 guides and 1 captain. They provided us bright orange ponchos as the rain is still non-stop, then were off. We were rocking the poncho style for 20 minutes rough ride to our first stop. But thank God after that everything seems to went well. And finally, the tides are on our side. We start off at Koh Phanak, a cave wherein we explore and at the end got some beautiful rock formation and mangroves.

Next was an amazing view that we discover on a canoe. Each couple got their own canoe and a guy will paddle along with us and give us some fun facts on the area. It was so fun going inside the caves while in canoe and ending up in the lagoons. Back in the boat, they prepared snacks like fruits and banana cakes as well as drinks for us to devour in while we’re on our way to the next location.

Then we head to the most known attraction in Phang Nga Bay, the James Bond Island. We don’t really go to the island but to an opposite one with it as the stunning view. Took tons of pics in here and our guide was so patient and was so professional taking all our pictures. He would even recommend great poses. There are not much people, like its just us there during that time so that’s even wonderful.
We had a quick stop at Bamboo Island (as what I remember haha) It has a long sand bar and it is so stunning but it was about to rain when we get there and we were just so hungry so we hurried to go to our lunch location.

This is the only part that I wasn’t that satisfied for the trip, we had to ride Songthaew for like 20 minutes to go the local restaurant. It is beachfront so I’ve got nothing to say on the view but the food was so so, I’ve eaten too much Thai that it doesn’t taste as authentic. It isn’t buffet either.

Last stop was a tropical beach, where we lay around on the mats they provided. They served fruits too so it was just a refreshing afternoon. Me and boyfie just walked along the shore and pick up sea shells. It was a great place to end our tour and we felt that it was our private island as we were the only ones in there.
Overall, I can really recommend the Simba Sea trips as we were taken care of really well and they were so fun to be with. The boat didn’t feel crowded and they were so accommodating.
