Langkawi is just an hour away flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia or over an hour if coming from Singapore. I had booked our flights from KL-LGK LGK-SG for only 40 SGD per pax on a seat sale in Airasia. See, good deals come to those subscribes to promotions and checks emails regularly. HAHA Anyway, if you’re interested to read my blog for what to do in KL click here, while our travel experience in Koh Lipe will be in the blog soon. For now, here’s what happened on our trip to Langkawi.
Me and my boyfriend arrived at Langkawi from Koh Lipe around 6PM, we actually wanted to walk around as we’ve seen a lot of shops around our hotel area while on the cab. Unfortunately, it was raining cats and dogs so we just decided to sleep in after checking the weather will be nicer the next day. We stayed at Nadias Hotel; I really cannot recommend it that much as we weren’t that happy with the cleanliness of the room but its location was one of the best if you want to stay at Pantai Cenang.
We wanted to roam the island and the best way was to rent a scooter/motorcycle. There were two rental shops nearby across the Best Star Hotel that ranges from 25-30 MYR for 24 hrs use. There was a deposit of 100 MYR and don’t forget to ask for the helmet (safety first!) If you don’t know how to drive just like me then find someone who do! HAHA Else, opt for Grab to go places or just chill out at the beach. In comparison in Koh Lipe, the beach was so so but way good enough compare to Sentosa beach in SG. There were many water sports available in the Pantai Cenang Beach. There’s jetski rental and parasailing offered to us while walking at the beach which were so affordable.
My boyfriend really wanted to rent jet ski but my heart was set to go to the waterfalls so we did what’s best, my choice of activity. We ride our way to Seven Wells Waterfalls for about 20mins. There are two viewing points, The first one is only like 5-10 minutes hike, if you want to go to the other one maybe additional 10mins hike. The cardio hiking up was worth it, the view was amazing. The water was murky but we had a good dip nevertheless. Note that there were no clean toilets to really shower so just bring some water to rinse yourself, After finding a faucet near the stores I was able to change and we head over to Oriental Village which was like 5 minutes away.
Oriental Village which sits at the foot hill of the Mat Chincang mountain range is where the SkyCab entrance, as well as the SkyDome, SkyRex, 3D Art Langkawi & 6D CineMotion etc. Sky Bridge sits on the top of the mountain. We purchased the Skycab Combo A which was 55 MYR, Skycab inclusive of SkyDome, SkyRex, 3D Art Langkawi, & Time Travel. I had a hard time persuading Jordan to ride the gondola as he had fear of heights and reading ‘The steepest Skycab in the world’ didn’t help at all. After coaxing him for what felt a very long time, we finally rode the gondola and enjoy the view heading to the peak of Gunung Machinchang where the Skybridge was. I went to Skybridge by myself and there was an extra charge to take the SkyGlide, 15 MYR to go down/up, Else, you can use the staircase for free.
After our gondola ride, we went to the 3D museum and had some fun acting out.It was a wonderful experience overall and I really recommend going here aside for lounging all day at the beach.

We arrived back at Pantai Cenang around 5pm and did quick shopping to Zon Shopping Paradise, had to buy those Beryl's chocolate when in Malaysia! We returned the scooter rental, freshened up and packed our stuff for our early departure on the next day to SG then we headed out to Putomayo restaurant for sumptuous grilled seafood dinner. We only wanted to walk in the beach and gaze the stars but we were surprised that there were colourful beanbags/ weave mats setups right on the sandy beach. We ended the night by lounging on one of the mats, just listening to the cascading waves and some music the stalls were playing, drinking some beer and watching fire dance. It was a romantic night for us.
