6 Days in Bangkok,Thailand Relaxed Itinerary

7:00 PM

When I started planning for my 8 days Thailand and Cambodia trip I realized that it's a bit hard to come up with an itinerary when there are lot of things you can do and to choose from. But when I ask myself on what I wanted to do.. It would be visit the temples, quality time with elephants, a day at the beach reading a book or a quick hike, thai massage, good food, cheap beer and some booze with locals / travellers.

I’m travelling solo so I could just go with the flow of  what I feel doing on whatever day was ahead of me. So I listed the places that pique my interest and did my research in each of them. Whether I decide to go or not, having information handy would save me time ,energy and money from all that wanted to ripped me off. See , can be spontaneous and organize!

Anyway here’s the 6days relaxed itinerary I ended up with instead :D

Day 1 - Temple Run Just got Started (Ayutthaya)
1:00 AM -- ✈️ ETA Suvarnabumi airport
Purchase Sim Card
👌 There are booths for Thailand’s three major mobile carriers (DTAC, AIS  & TRUE) in the airport which are open 24 hours.
As I’m gonna stay for 6days I choose for a plan which is good for 7days with unlimited data, compared the three carriers which offers almost the same thing but I opted for DTAC 299 Baht because it includes life insurance!

👌 If you're arriving on wee hours like me, cab fare would be a bit expensive but my tip is to go upstairs Level 4 in the departure area and walk outside, look for a cab who is just dropping off a passenger and hail this one (not the waiting cab coz that one will give you fixed rate), make sure its metered taxi  (do not ride if it's not!) And tell the driver ‘’Mai toll, mai expressway” (means no to expressway and toll , there is no traffic at this wee hours so just go to the normal route). This save you the airport fee in taxi stand, toll and expressway extra fee.
Check-in at hostel  -- Oh Bangkok Httel (nearby khao san road)
107 ซอยสามเสน 4 ถนนสามเสน แขวงบ้านพานถม เขตพระนคร กรุงเทพฯ 10200
107 Samsen Soi 4, Samsen Road, Ban Phan Thom Sub-District, Phra Nakorn District, Bkk 10200

09:00 AM -- Depart for Day Trip to Ayutthaya
🚗 Transpo via Van in Victory Monument BTS
If you’re staying at or near Khao San Road, just walk to Khok Wua Intersection (Thai : แยกคอกวัว) (one stop from the democracy monument) this is the main road where you can ride the bus. (Opt for bus, it’s cheap!) Ride either 157,171 or 509 takes like 30-40mins and drop off at Victory Monument.

11:00 AM Look for the van that goes to Ayutthaya, fare is 60 baht takes around an hour.1:00 AM -- Once you reached the destination find a guest house or hotel that have bike rentals, I rented mine for 50 baht good for the day, grab a map on the guest house and cycle my way to the temples. Took me around 3-4 hours to go around. This gonna depend on how long you wanted to stay in each place.

3:30 PM -- Late Lunch and back to BKK
After cycling , my tummy is growling so I head to 🍽 Satang for scrumptious late lunch! Then the van going back to BKK is in front of the resto itself so voila!
6:00 PM -- Back in Hostel and met wonderful, nice , fun and solo travellers!
9:00 PM -- Head to Khao san road for Dinner and Party!
🍽 Dinner at Lotash Seed

Day 2 -- Beach Day at Koh Larn Island
9:00 AM -- 🚗 Head to Victory Monument and ride Mini Van heading to Pattaya, usually take about 2 hours, but times vary considerably depending upon traffic and cost 100 baht.
12:00 NN -- Arrived at Bali Hai pier and look for the booth of ferry, but the booth is closed so I just walk over the pier and find the ferry heading to Tawaen Beach, takes around 45 mins and cost 30 baht.
Afternoon -- Spent the whole afternoon at the beach reading a good book, eating papaya salad and having some smoothie to fight the hot weather. It's a bit crowded with all the group tours but sand was unexpectedly powdery and if you stay at least late afternoon the place is a bit calmer and can enjoy plunging in the water. I left with the last ferry heading back to Pattaya.
6:00 PM -- Took motortaxi to Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha Hill)
7:00 PM -- Roam around the Red District of Pattaya -- Walking Street
9:00 PM -- Ride the minivan back to BKK which took forever because of traffic and rain
